At its meeting on the 4th October, NPC Scotland discussed its response to the Scottish Solutions inquiry. The inquiry has called for comments in light of the fact that higher funding to English institutions could cause staff to move to England but also cause students to move to Scotland in pursuit of more economical education.
These issues are highly concerning to NPC Scotland in terms of the long term infrastructure and international market available for postgraduate education.
NPC Scotland urges funding to be sought through progressive general tax and stresses the need not to resort to increasing the graduate endowment or international tuition fees.
