NPC has released, in time for NUS Conference last month, a postgraduate funding charter outlining what it is campaigning for and why. This is based on the decsions of the NPC general meetings at Warwick, Worcester and Cranfield. It was originally drafted by myself and editied by James Groves.
This document is released pending approval at the Gloucester OGM. It is hoped to make further additions to this charter later on - in particular, we need to know what you think about funding for international and part-time postgrads.
In summary, the charter campaigns for:
- The extension of income-contingent loans to all postgraduates
- An end to hidden course costs and excessive premium fees; and
- A fairer system of funding for undergraduates.
Paper copies of the charter are available on request, or you can print the PDF file.
