NPC builds links with Northern Irish student bodies

Colin Beveridge, James Groves and Sam Hardy of the NPC recently spent two days in Belfast (Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 October 2001) as guests of NUS-USI, the Northern Ireland Student Movement. While they were there they met student officers from the University of Ulster, Queen's University Belfast and the Union of Students in Ireland.

The NPC is keen to work with all student organisations in Northern Ireland to set up a committee for postgraduate students there. We think it's important that the Department of Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland, which has responsibility for higher education there, is able to hear the postgraduate voice on current issues such as funding and quality.

We look forward to returning to Northern Ireland in the near future.
