During the week of the 18th to 22nd October, Tim Brown headed up to Glasgow to hand over the NPC archives to his successor, Jim Ewing, where they also took the opportunity to run through some training, visit institutions and also take a trip to Belfast to help continuity with the important work in developing a base in Northern Ireland. In the above photograph, Tim is handing over the all important sederunt book to Jim, which has been passed down from generation to generation throughout NPC's history to record who was present at each general meeting. They are standing outside NPC's new premises, kindly hosted by Glasgow University.
The visit was most important to ensure that all was successfully handed on to Jim where a number of plans for the year were discussed. These included ongoing projects from Tim's work through to new projects that Jim will embark on during his term of office as General Secretary. More will be revealed at the ordinary general meeting in Glasgow on the 13th November where both Tim and Jim will present their reports.
At the end of October, handover will be complete and Tim will be moving to pastures new and returning to his engineering career at Aalborg University in Denmark where he will be a research fellow. Although he will be outside the UK, Tim has many plans to do work for NPC at distance since only an internet connection is needed to do a wide variety of work. Tim will be coming to the next meeting and also to subsequent general meetings in the future to keep in touch with NPC's work.
