The Graduate Centre opened in September 1999 to serve postgraduate students - both taught and research at Cardiff University.

Cardiff University

The Centre serves as a common ground for students of all disciplines and adds another dimension to life at Cardiff University. The Centre does not replace the facilities of the individual School, rather it is intended to provide an opportunity to step outside the School into the larger postgraduate community.

We are located on the 3rd floor of the Students Union Building in Park Place. The Graduate Centre, including the IT Room and Meeting Rooms, is open Monday to Saturday, 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 midnight and Sunday, 12.00 noon to 12.00 midnight.

The Cafe Bar is open Monday to Friday. Food service is available from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. and the main bar is open from 3.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. (later for events nights)

The Graduate Centre is a partnership project between the University, the Students Union, and the postgraduate students. The Graduate Centre is administratively part of the Registry Division of the University. The Graduate Centre Manager report to the Director of Registry/Dean of Graduate Studies. The Students Union directly manages the Cafe Bar.

The Postgraduate, Societies and International Officer, a sabbatical Union post, meets regularly with the Manager. Postgraduate students are also members of the Graduate Centre Steering Group, along with other Union officers and staff and University staff.

Our Mission
In support of the University's mission to pursue research and research-led learning and teaching of the highest quality, the Graduate Centre will contribute to the world-class academic and social provision for graduate students within Cardiff University.
